Today's look, going a little retro

This look is completely out of my comfort zone but I am branching out a bit to try different things, let me know what you think!

  1. Ohh-la-la! I love this look! It's simple yet elegant! I wonder how it would look with some false eyelashes... I will probably try it out for work. Did you put any eyeshadow on your lids? And did you line your lower line lash?

  2. I bet this is you, Carla! Haha!! I so appreciate you reading my blog... it makes me want to keep going, thank you so much!
I am a little scared to try fake lashes, I don't quite know how to apply them yet but I will try it someday. I put a very thin layer of my Mac Painterly paint pot on my lids, not enough to show but enough so that my lids won't get oily. You can substitute that with your UDPP. And no, I didn't line my lower lash line but I applied white kohl eyeliner on my lower waterline. Hope this helps! If you do this look you gotta take pictures and show me!

  3. I love the lipstick color on you! I think I would maybe play up the eyes a little with the a color that will go well with the lips.

  4. Thanks Leslie!
I am a little afraid of using color on my lips to tell you the truth! I usually wear a nude lipstick with a clear gloss on top so for me the look on that photo was completely out of my game. I think the more I wear color on my lips the more I'll get used to it, so we'll see how brave I get next time ;-)

  5. Lui,
I tried this look to go to work about 2 weeks ago and I really liked it but I went a little overboard with the red lipstick and ended up looking like a Geisha! Or so I was told...
I might try it again and just tone down the lipstick...
    Carla :(

  6. Haha Carla!
Looking like a geisha is not a bad thing, I don't think. Dark lipstick can be a little tricky if you are not used to wearing it, I personally, feel more comfortable with nudes, but try a lipstick a little darker than the one you would usually wear and go from there, eventually you'll get more comfortable using a darker color.
